The first model of softly foldable smartphone in the world was surprisingly introduced at the exhibition CES 2019.
Not Samsung, LG or any other familiar brand names in the market, it was Royole – a Chinese technological company surprisingly announced their first foldable smartphone. The model was named FlexPai, which is also the first commercial smartphone using Snapdragon 855 processor.
Moreover, this model is also equipped with RAM 6/8 GB with optional internal memory of 128/256 GB. The rear surface is installed dual camera chain with resolution level of 20MP + 16MP and operating on Android Pie system. FlexPai will be equipped with AMOLED screen of 7.8 inch and is capable of transferring from tablet to smartphone by bending the screen into rear surface.
In normal state, users may find FlexPai to be a mini tablet. But after bending it backwards, it will become a true smartphone, which bring about fresh and exciting experiences for the users.
However, it seems that FlexPai’s software has not yet got perfection since images displaying on a side of the screen could not automatically transfer to the other side if users change utilization mode. Google is still on the way optimizing Android system to better facilitate foldable devices. In addition, Bill Liu, founder and CEO of Royole, said that beside creating their own foldable smartphones, his company would also become a partner producing foldable screens for companies need them.
Currently users could buy and experience FlexPai at the Royole’s booth in CES exhibition 2019.
